The USC rugby team with parents and fans at the Frostbite 7s Tournament

Playing against an unfamiliar field, the Gamecocks completed the Frostbite 7s Tournament with a solid 4-2 record over the weekend.


The two-day tournament, held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, included a premiere backet of 16 teams. The Gamecocks outscored their opponents 135-83 and finished in fifth place.


The scores:


Defeated Delaware 26-14

Lost to Babson 7-24

Defeated Nazareth 47-0

Lost to St. Bonaventure 0-35

Defeated Babson 31-0

Defeated American International College (AIC) 24-10


USC was the highest ranked DIAA team in the tournament and defeated two varsity programs, Nazareth and AIC.


Grant Ruhlen and Charlie Feehan led the Gamecocks with seven and six trys respectively.


The Gamecocks, with a 7s record of 14-5-1, return to action March 21 at the Ruck the Rock 7s Tournament in Rock Hill, S.C.
