Dr. Frank Walton, a dominant player of the 70s and a member of the USC Rugby Hall of Fame passed way October 8 after suffering complications from a stroke.

Walton, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1959 and inducted into the John Carroll University Football Hall of Fame in 1992, booted up nearly 100 times for the Gamecocks. He was called the “Big Gun” by the student newspaper in early 70s when he was frequently the highest scorer.
